Outdoor Rooms.

It's a beautiful sunny day in Seattle (they're the best!) and I can't help but yearn for those anxiously awaited long summer days at the lake.  During the summer months we spend most of our time outdoors, taking advantage of every moment of sunshine that we can.  Throughout the warm sunny months, outdoor rooms provide a place to enjoy the outdoors in comfort.  They also add another room onto the house and provide yet another place to gather and relax.  Take that stylish decor from inside the home and move it outside....

Tall white columns frame the breathtaking scenery.  Dramatic white draperies provide protection from the elements.  Eye-catching pillows rest on black wicker sofas.  Having a table handy for food and drinks is a must.

I love the light blue ceiling which mimics a clear blue sky.  A natural rug, leafy green accessories and wicker tables provide the perfect transition from inside to outside.

A beautiful porch or screened area can take advantage of the view while still remaining protected from the elements.  I love the natural color palette that doesn't upstage the view beyond.

If you're looking for granduer, the combination of archways and columns is about as close as you can get.  The fireplace is a natural focal point and allows guests to stay warm when the temperature drops.  The ceiling adds protection and encloses the space which remains open to the outdoors.

This outdoor space is as smart and stylishly sophisticated as almost any indoor room I've seen.  It's a place where family and friends will want to spend time.

The outdoor sofa is almost a room unto itself.  It's both cozy and intimate.  Bright orange chairs add that element of surprise.

An outdoor fireplace or firepit makes an outdoor space sizzle.  It adds warmth and coziness.

A bright pink bouquet of flowers adds a pop of color in this garden oasis.  Hardscaping extends the interior into this natural setting.

Enjoying a tasty meal in this garden atmosphere is outdoor living at it's best.

All that was needed to create this outdoor space were a few chairs and a table.  Surrounded with lush greenery and the sounds of a water feature trickling in the background, this outdoor room is a comfortable and serene place to relax.

This outdoor room is built for entertaining in style.  The wood pergola and fireplace create a relaxed friendly aesthetic.

This outdoor retreat has a spectacular lake view.  Natural textures such as wicker, stone and wood add interest and blend seamlessly with the natural environmental textures in this lakeside backyard oasis.

Regardless of size, outdoor areas can be comfortable and inviting.  A direct extension of the indoors, this space provides comfortable seating in a charming setting.
