Jan Showers is one of my favorite designers. She successfully combines a variety of periods and styles in an understated glamorous way. Her rooms are always elegant and totally captivating.
The neutral color palette in this living room receives shots of bright turquoise in the form of elegant glass lamps. Contemporary art work hangs symmetrically on either side of an antique mirror. The zebra rug adds that element of surprise.
The simple lines of the furniture are juxtaposed with glamorous floor lamps, contemporary art and a standout rug.
A little silk, a little shine, luxurious upholstery and a striking piece of modern art mix to create a subtly elegant and glamorous room.
The zebra print armless sofa adds instant zing to this living room. The rich black oriental screen intensifies the sophistication. The symmetrically arranged chairs and glass floor lamps provide formality.
A densely patterned and colorful rug ground this living room. The chandelier overhead sparkles and shines. The eclectic mix of furniture attractively coexists with no singular piece demanding all the attention.
In this deep and richly colored library a zebra rug and chartruese leather chairs add interest and excitement. Brightly patterned pillows add pops of color. I love the cozy intimate feel of the space.
This living room is an example of the both modern and timeless appeal of the rooms she designs. There is a perfect mixture of antiques and modern elements. Everything is perfectly scaled and nothing is overdone. I love the mirrored tables and restrained color palette. She has many devoted fans, of which I am one.
