I recently came across these exquisite rooms designed by Jimmy Stanton, an interior designer located in Atlanta, Georgia. His design philosophy involves incorporating transitional items with unique & found objects. His keen eye is evident in the details...
His design aesthetic is somewhat minimalistic, yet rich in textures. It's reminiscent of what you might get if you combined Vicente Wolf and Thomas O'Brien. Modern graphics and masculine colors are mixed with ethnic and antique elements. Texture, tufting and nailheads provide the only pattern. The look is striking yet serene. I love it! What do you think?
Another view allows us to view the room in it's entirety. Bookcases, filled to the brim, make the room appear lived in. A wall complete with glass doors carries the view to the outside and fills the room with natural light.
The simple graceful lines of this chair are shown off with a textural solid fabric. A spot of pattern on the pillow adds interest and modernizes the chair. And, makes the perfect resting spot!
This vignette reminds me of something Thomas O'Brien would pull together. It's simple, yet beautifully mixes a bold graphic, clean lines and shapes with an intriguing mix of textures from the velvet ottomans to the rustic table.
Stanton frequently utilizes nailhead trim detailing. A flat screen tv sits on top of a rustic antique sideboard creating the ultimate juxtaposition.
This room has many of the same elements as the other rooms I viewed, but with a much lighter color palette. It's a bit too monochromatic for my tastes. I prefer deep rich colors. However, I love the ceiling detail, stone fireplace and beautiful windows with their adjoining seats.
Tufted sofas appear to be a favorite for this designer. I love them as well. They always look well kept, no cushion plumping needed. What do you think?
