Are You Decorating A Girl's Room? Take A Look At These Spaces...

Is there anything more fun than decorating a girl's room? And, I don't think there's a more excited and appreciative client than a young girl.  I wanted to go beyond the stereotypical pink room, but these spaces were so drop dead gorgeous that I decided to focus on the most common color when decorating a girl's room.... PINK!  It can be soft and feminine or strong and vibrant, providing that visual pop. Here's some visual eye-candy and, hopefully, some inspiration as well...

The letter "A" above the bed personalizes the room.  Pink ranges from a soft blue based pink to vibrant salmon, a yellow based pink.  The generous billowy drapes and sparkling crystal chandelier add elegance and luxury.

Soft, romantic and elegant, this bedroom could grow with a young girl well into her young adult years, assuming you want her to stay that long!  Having a place to sit and relax or read is always a great addition to any room.

This bedroom strikes the perfect balance between soft and feminine and strong and dramatic.  I love the sunburst mirror centered above the headboard and the light wood plank ceiling that somehow manages to make the room look more natural and less theatrical.

The pink walls create a soft glowing ambience.  Void of any splashy visuals, nothing is too contrived or complicated in this serene bedroom.  It feels like a breath of fresh air.

Decorated by Sarah Richardson, this bedroom feels like sugar coated candy to me.  I think it's the stripes!  The abundant use of white balances out the strong pattern and lets it breathe.  Crisp white walls and modern accessories keep the look current.  I like the fact that she kept the window treatments white to let the furniture and accessories pop.

Pink can be exciting and joyful!  The crisp white walls keep the space light and airy.  An eclectic mix of patterns and styles happily coexist to create an enchanting upbeat room.  The artwork is happy and fun.  The bold patterned carpet is modern, vibrant and dramatic.

A variety of patterns in varying shades of pink, along with an antique bedside table and scenic oil painting, are put together in an undecorated sort of way and manage to avoid looking hodgepodge.  Instead the look is casual, friendly and inviting.  White horizontal wallboards add interest and texture.

Pink is used everywhere, from the carpet to the chair, on the walls and on the bed.  Somehow it doesn't seem to overpower the space.  The vintage inspired bedroom is warm and cozy.  The bamboo shade adds a dose of natural texture while the shot of chartruese green on the lampshade and yellow upholstered headboard provide relief from the pink and balance out the color scheme.

An accent wall is created using a bold geometric wallpaper.  The upholstered headboard and bedside lamps continue the black and white color scheme.  Fun, modern and a bit theatrical, this bedroom is soften by a shot of pink.

Black adds strength to this bedroom. The shot of vibrant pink energizes the room and makes it "girlie".  The bold and dramatic color scheme is exciting and current.  A bamboo shade adds natural texture and, along with the soft green walls, softens the space.

Don't underestimate the power of pink!  Depth and interest have been achieved by using numerous shades and textures of the color.  An eclectic mix of styles have been combined to create an attractive composition.

  1. I love the one with the pink swirly wallpaper, that looks like a real bedroom that I would have loved. The rest of the rooms look like a master bedroom in the home where the woman wears the pants in the family.
