Modern Country

What happens when you pair sleek modern design with rustic country living?

It's hard to tell where country ends and modern begins in this spacious room.  It achieves the perfect balance - it feels cozy but airy at the same time.

What happens when you pair a sleek modern Saarinen table with rustic wood beams and antiques?  It's a look that works perfectly in this room.

This room takes a traditional favorite and gives it a chich twist.  It's very comfortable but not quite as casual as the more traditional country look was in the past.  The color palette is restrained, the lines of the sofa are clean and the decor is uncluttered.

The steel Klismos chairs are set off by the wood table.  Pattern is eschewed and instead the focus is on textures.  The choice of white wainscoting paired with black paint on the walls is surprisingly unexpected, light-hearted and fun.

The modern country aesthetic works perfectly in this kitchen.  Sharp-edged modern may have appeared a bit too urban and the traditional country look often feels too cliche.  The clean spare vibe refreshes the traditional white cabinetry.
