Seeing Double.... Twin Beds.

Need to make room for two?  Most bedrooms can accommodate two twin beds with style and panache.  Whether you have two kids that need to share space or are creating a guest room (two twin beds can be pushed together to make a king, if necessary), here are a few inspirational images...

I love the barley twist beds in this bedroom, placed neatly in front of the windows.  The room, full of rich colors and textures, beautifully mixes styles and eras.

The blue and white color combination is crisp and refreshing.  This gender neutral bedroom hosts guests in style and comfort.  I'm not a huge fan of the sailboats... a little too kitschy or thematic for me.  I would have prefered original artwork.

This crisp airy white bedroom is fun and whimsical. .. perfect for two young girls!  I love the small crystal chandelier.  White wrought iron beds are similar in style and scale, without being identical.  I find it more intriguing when both sides of the room don't match perfectly, but instead have slight differences.  You can add personality and interest while still maintaining balance.

Vibrant red is balanced with crisp white to create a bold current atmosphere.  Stripes, florals and solids combine, in a variety of textures, to create a rich aesthetic.  Mounting light fixtures above each bed conserves space while creating a focal point.

Dynamic and bold, this bedroom isn't shy on color.  The black and white striped rug heightens the drama.  I love the placement of the art.  It brings the room together more than if the pictures had been hung separately over each individual bed.  The sky blue walls give the eye a place to rest.

This bedroom has a lovely casual relaxed feel.  I love the placement of the twin beds in front of the windows.  It draws the eye toward the layers of fabrics to the headboard and to the view beyond.  I also love the interesting collage of artwork bridging the gap between the two beds.  Natural fiber window treatments and rug add textural interest.

Are you ready for guests?

  1. I was just wondering where you found the picture of the 2 red beds with the black and white striped rugs? Looking to replicate that look with a full size bed with a red headboard. Thank you!
