Art Deco Style

Art Deco style is modern, glamorous and elegant.  Developed after World War I, Art Deco combines sleek smooth lines with modern materials. Rich colors and textures abound.

The deep green velour chair, white leather stools and bronze and glass geometric shaped light fixture are all hallmarks of an Art Deco interior.  Soft furnishings and colors balance out the simple sleek lines to create a serene and inviting space.

Form is important in Art Deco interiors. The dramatic bed, most likely made of a highly lacquered exotic wood, makes a grand focal point.  The frame is softened by pale pink tufted upholstery.  Mirrored doors, highlighting chrome door handles, create a breathtaking entrance.

White leather, rich velour, and a dazzling geometric metal chandelier are all quintessentially Art Deco. Table lamps, such as these, of bright nickel with white, clear, frosted, or colorful glass shades are common.

The Art Deco Suite at The Langham Yangtze was inspired by the rich and luxurious Art Deco heritage.

In this minimalistic living room, color is used sparingly.  Luxe gold, with touches of black, creates a theatrical effect.
