Black And White.

Black and white is always a stunning color combination.  It has both classic appeal and modern pop.

A black and white floor is always a good place to start.  The tall baseboards and beautiful molding heighten the elegant feel of this kitchen.  The dazzling chandelier adds a heavy dose of luxury to the space. 

  

 The use of black and white gives this bedroom a fresh, clean and unquestionably sophisticated and elegant appeal.  Its' paired down aesthetic contributes to the modern sensibility.  I love the singular gold starburst mirror centered above the bed without any other art to distract from it.  The double doors leading into the bedroom introduce the black and white scheme and the rug adds warmth and a minimal amount of color.

I love how the wide plank wood flooring offsets and softens the black and white.  The fresh inviting white slipcovered sofas are the perfect counterpart to the white Saarinen coffee table.  Modern art, period lighting and a dash of zebra print mix beautifully.

Walls painted soft ivory serve as a perfect backdrop for the artwork.  Gorgeous architectural details, interesting shapes and carefully chosen lighting keep a black and white palette from being boring.

Deep charcoal is a good substitue for black and also a stunning background for monochromatic art.  Warm wood tones and antique finishes add character and depth.

In this room, the deep red adds a pop of color.  Keeping the black and white prominent, however, preserves the elegant effect.  The black and white color combination can be made to have a very traditional classy aesthetic, or it can easily be combined with sharp saturated colors for a look that is very hip and stylish.
