Textures I Love.

Textures are such an integral part of a design scheme and further enhance the feel of a space.

 The plaster walls, sleek light fixture and textural bedding each beautifully contributes a different textural element,but the cohesive color ties them all together.

 The fur throw juxtaposed against the sleek hardwood floor provides a textural treat.

 The beauty of the floral pouf is not only in its large scale, but in its beguiling texture.

 This bedroom is a textural treasure trove.  The brick wall,bedding, art, accessories and furniture all present such a wide variety of textures.

Unfinished, natural antiques, wicker baskets on display and vintage pillows all add to the overall rustic vibe of the space.

Room of the Week.

This room strikes the perfect balance between traditional and modern.

It has a fresh, modern yet cozy vibe.

Ikat.

Ikats are the hottest trend right now.  I love the idea of covering an entire wall with this unique fabric.  I would have chosen one pattern and covered both walls.  Using the two patterns is confusing and downplays the impact.

Mirrors.

Not only do mirrors visually expand a space, but they bounce light around a room.  There are countless ways to add mirrors to your decor other than the expected mirror centered above the firplace.

Toile.

Toile has been around forever... well, almost forever.  But somehow it seems fresh and modern in bright up-to-date color combinations and appears graphic in black and white.  I love it when old classic patterns are given a fresh new twist.  What do you think?

Zig Zag.

The classic zig zag pattern is so modern and fresh.  I'm seeing it on everything from lamps to pillows to rugs.  I love it!  Frog Hill Designs is coming out with some zig zag pillows in bright, fresh colors this summer.  Be on the lookout!
